NATIONAL SUDOKU DAY !!!
Celebrating brain health & community fun!
Did you know that September 9 is National Sudoku Day? The date (9/9) was chosen because Sudoku is played on a 9 x 9 grid! While number puzzles have been around for centuries, the modern Sudoku we know today was popularized in Japan in the 1970s and quickly became a worldwide favorite.
WHY DOES SUDOKU MATTER???
Sudoku isn’t just a fun pastime — it’s a powerful brain game:
- For Memory Care Residents: Gentle puzzles help stimulate memory, encourage focus, and provide a comforting sense of routine. Completing even a small puzzle can spark confidence and joy.
- For All Community Members: Sudoku sharpens problem-solving skills, strengthens memory, and reduces stress. Working on puzzles together can also encourage teamwork and conversation, turning a solo game into a social experience..
HOW WE CELEBRATED!!
On September 9, we celebrated National Sudoku Day by enjoying handing out puzzles . Whether you’re in it for fun, brain exercise, or social connection, Sudoku has something for everyone! If your loved one LOVED Sudoku, please let us know and we can print out more puzzles for them!
